The Moon Park and children

We are now in the midst of the school half term, those holidays so much looked forward to by all children, especially those lucky enough to be coming out to enjoy the snow.
We therefore set off to find children using the Moon Park.

The Moon Park is an area open to children who already know the basics of skiing or boarding. Judging from their expressions and comments, the “whoops” are the elements most enjoyed by children (and also by the adults…).

The more adventurous may like to try the “mini-tables” to be just like the grown-ups who train on the red and black lines. The green and blue lines are perfectly adapted to children and teenagers who want to discover new thrills.

Children can easily recognize the level of difficulty of each course thanks to the coloured flags placed at each element, which correspond to the colour code of the pistes:

the green line = very easy
the blue line = easy
the red line = difficult
the black line = very difficult

Kids generally enjoy jumps and going off the sides of the pistes, which is exactly why we created this space for them – and also for the grown-ups too!

Children also seem to enjoy the boarder cross (a course comprising a succession of banked turns). The boarder cross allows children to enjoy the sensation of speed, which they must also control in order to negotiate the turns…
Some also try out the different rails and boxes which add to the challenge of the course.

We asked a few children their opinion of the Moon Park :
“What I like most are the sort of waves” (referring to the whoops at the beginning of the green line)
“I love jumping really high”
“The snowpark is really cool, we have really good fun here”

Access to the Moon Park is by the Plan de l’Homme chairlift and the Arpasson draglift.
